The research study is invasive and requires surgery. The surgeries involve placing micro-electrode arrays on the surface of the brain, and electrodes around or near the nerves in your arm and hand. This will be a time-intensive study, involving research sessions of 2-3 hours duration, and averaging 3 sessions per week. You must live within 3 hours of Cleveland, OH (or be able to temporarily relocate to a residence within 3 hours of Cleveland, OH) to participate. The study requires a commitment of 13 months, with an option to participate for longer. This study is being conducted by Dr. Jennifer Sweet, MD at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and Dr. Bolu Ajiboye, PhD at Case Western Reserve University.
